I'm happy to hear you ask me that, because apart from the model herself, it's all post production. The ones on her face are CGI, and the ones in her mouth are a mapped texture from a photo of honeybees.

Wow, I'm surprised. I thought for sure the bees were real until you mentioned they were CGI. Then I looked and saw that. Did you model the bees? I went to school for 3D animation so I'm interested in hearing more about that. The background texture I was sure was pre-pro but you don't always know, do ya? Cool picture, but looking at it makes me want to cough.
